Delete your
account

How to close an aurii account and what happens to the data, in plain language.

This page applies to the aurii app and service operated by Aurii Pty Ltd. It works even if you have uninstalled the app. In effect as at 13 July 2026. The full picture of how we handle data is in the privacy policy.

How to request deletion

You can request deletion of your aurii account at any time, from this page, without opening or reinstalling the app.

Email hello@aurii.com.au with the subject “Account deletion request” from the email address your aurii account is registered under. Include your name and, if you work across several hospitals or practices, the organisation your account sits under.

We confirm the request with you before acting on it. This protects your account: a deletion request that does not come from your registered address, or that we cannot verify, is not actioned.

What is deleted, and when

Once your identity is confirmed, your account is closed immediately and your personal account data is deleted from live systems within 30 days.

  • Deleted Your profile (name, work email, specialty, provider details), sign-in credentials including passkeys and authenticator enrolments, device registrations, notification tokens, and app preferences.
  • Deleted on cycle Encrypted backups containing your account data age out on a defined backup cycle after live deletion.
  • Offered first A copy of your data. Tell us in your request if you want an export before the account closes.

What we must retain, and why

aurii holds clinical records. Australian health-record law does not allow those to be erased on request, so deleting your account does not delete them.

  • Clinical records Notes, letters and discharge summaries you signed are part of the patient record, held for the practice or hospital under Australian record-keeping law, typically seven years or more from the last entry.
  • The audit trail The tamper-evident record of who did what and when is kept for seven years. It is append-only by design and cannot be selectively erased.
  • Legal obligations Anything we are required to keep by Australian law, kept only as long as that law requires, then securely disposed of.

Retained records are separated from any active account. They stay encrypted, in Australia, under the same protections described in our privacy policy.

If you are a patient

aurii holds patient information on behalf of the specialists and hospitals who use it. If you are a patient and want information about you corrected or deleted, the request usually flows through your treating clinician or hospital, which controls the record. Contact them first, or email hello@aurii.com.au and we will help direct the request.

Make the request

One email starts it. We confirm your identity, action the deletion, and reply when it is done.
